The Brester Dentistry Family

Our family is committed to monitoring the rapidly evolving impacts that COVID-19 is causing in our community and our world and are unwavering in our commitment to protect the health of our patients and our employees. We are closely following local, state and federal health agencies for guidance on how to best provide care for our patients during this time.

As of May 19th, the office resumed providing care for all patients and has been safely providing both preventive and restorative treatment. In addition, the most recent restrictions (November 15, 2020) do not place any additional limitations to providing all dental care. During the last 9 months, research has shown that the risk of transmission in the dental setting is extremely low and has additionally highlighted the importance of maintaining oral health as an essential component in maintaining overall health.

As a dental office, we are thoroughly trained in and follow everyday the universal protocol for preventing the transmission of human pathogens. At all times, (not just in light of COVID) we operate as though every patient is infectious. Here is a look into some the additional practices implemented at this time:

  1. Please DO NOT come to the office if:

    • You are experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, or flu like symptoms OR have been around anyone experiencing these symptoms in the last 14 days.

    • All patients will complete a health screening and have their temperature taken prior to their procedure.

  2. Curbside check-in and payment are available, simply call or text upon arrival.

  3. Appointment options for immune compromised patients.

  4. Please do not bring additional guests to your appointment, this includes children. If you require a support person, please have them walk you into the office and then return to their car for the duration of your appointment. We will gladly notify them when your appointment is complete to have them return for you.

  5. All patients will be provided hand sanitizer, mask, and will use an antiviral rinse prior to treatment.

  6. HEPA-H13 air purifiers have been added to each room in the office.

  7. All clinical surfaces (dental chair, arm rests, head rests, counters, trays, lights, stools) are sterilized with an EPA approved disinfectant proven to kill enveloped viruses like COVID. Additional single use barriers are also used to provide additional protection.

  8. All communal surfaces such as door knobs, counters, pens, credit card machines, bathrooms, etc. are disinfected routinely throughout the day using chemicals proven to kill bacterial and viral pathogens.

  9. All magazines, reading material, and toys have been removed from the waiting room.

  10. Staff members are not allowed to be at work if they are ill or have been around someone experiencing flu- like symptoms. Staff members temperatures are taken daily.

  11. Staff members have been asked to avoid hand shaking or other unnecessary physical contact at this time.

Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions.

We are so excited to see you!
